Round One: 11 and 12 September

16 Competitors will compete over two days in Round 1. Each competitor will have 20-25 minutes to showcase the following repertoire:

  • Mazurka

    • Chopin (one Mazurka)​

    • Szymanowski OR Moszkowski OR Paderewski (one Mazurka)

  • Etude

    • Chopin – one Etude from Op10 AND one Etude from Op25

    • Szymanowski OR Debussy (one Etude)

  • Nocturne (Chopin)

  • Waltz (Chopin)

  • One piece by Lutoslawski, OR one piece by a composer from Round 1 (Szymanowski/ Moszkowski/Paderewski, but must not be the same composer as chosen in Round 1).

  • Chopin: a Scherzo

  • Chopin: a Polonaise

  • Chopin: a Ballade

  • Busoni's Zehn Variationen uber ein Praludium von Chopin;

  • Chopin: a Sonata OR the compete cycle of Preludes
