The 1st Australian International Chopin Piano Competition was held from 1 - 8 May 2011 at the ANU School of Music, Canberra, Australia.

The Competition was under the direction of Arnan Wiesel (Head of Keyboard, ANU School of Music), and was partnered with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Canberra.

Janusz Olejniczak from Poland gave the Gala Opening Recital that officially began the competition
